Webflow vs Wordpress vs Squarespace vs Wix??
OR
Lovable vs V0 vs. Bolt.new vs Bubble vs. Replit?
OR
Vercel vs Github Pages vs Netlify vs Cloudflare??
OR
Supabase vs. Neon? Render vs Railway vs Fly vs Surge??
AWS vs. GCP vs. Azure??
????
What are you even talking about, Kevin?
Exactly.
I once had a CTO that started our annual update with a cool slide that said “What are we even DOING?” and I loved it.
Because what you’re building is always the whole question.
For a huge number of those options, the answer is simply “it depends on what we’re building”.
For that first category, “Webflows”, I don’t really know that I’d recommend any of them anymore for the vast majority of things.
It’s just so much easier to go fully custom.
For the second category, “Loveable”s: the AI builder websites I find seriously misleading. You cannot build a whole startup app with a prompt.
You can build fun throw away things OR a nice static website. These tools would be better if they were more honest about that.
If you just built a static website, Cloudflare is my go-to. I’d get off any AI builder platform (i.e. download your code OFF Replit and shut it down), then connect your regular AI subscription like Claude Code or ChatGPT codex to it.
If you’re then into “app” territory, I have been loving launching my own Coolify instances with regular Postgres on small Hetzner / Hostinger boxes. But, for the non-developer, Cloudflare workers + Supabase is not a bad option. Neon too.
AWS vs. GCP vs. Azure?? AWS. If you’re all the way to this question, please just AWS. It’s the devil we know.
But just for a static site? Build it! And own it. It’s way more fun.
